Job summary

BME Inc. is seeking an entry-level safety professional to support our safety director and maintain safety-related records for various sites. The ideal candidate will assist with safety training, inspections, and audits while complying with safety regulations. Opportunities for continuing education and obtaining OSHA certifications will be provided, involving occasional travel as necessary.

• Some previous experience in construction or general industry safety helpful but not required.

Job description

This position is an entry level safety professional role that reports to the Safety Director. Day to day duties may be with BME Services, LLC, Bertke Electric Company, Inc., Survoy’s Superior Service, LLC, or any combination of these, or any future tuck-in companies.

Qualifications

• Some previous experience in the field of construction or general industry safety helpful but not required.
• Competency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Job Description

• Maintain various safety-related records, including, but not limited to:
• Safety equipment inspection certifications
• Equipment inspections
• Job Safety Analysis and Site-Specific Safety Plans
• Site safety audits
• Respiratory protection records
• Work permits (energized energy, confined space entry, hot work, etc.)
• Building safety equipment inspections
• Safety training
• New hire training and safety orientation
• Assist in development and implementation of electronic safety software
• Maintain the GEO Tab GPS platform for the fleet
• Assist with managing general fleet duties as needed, to include vehicle registration and licensing
• Tracking and reporting of various safety and fleet department KPI’s
• Other duties and responsibilities as needed in support of health and safety efforts not necessarily outlined here, but as instructed by the safety director
• This position provides support and backup to the safety director
• Backup the safety director during vacations and other time off, or during any other time when the safety director may be unavailable
• Safey is a 24/7 responsibility. This person in this role must be willing to respond as needed, regardless of the day, time, holiday, etc.
• Continuing education in the field of safety is expected, and will be paid for by the company toward obtaining various OSHA safety certifications and competencies is expected and these opportunities will be provided as they become available, and schedule allows
• Some occasional travel, including overnight travel to other sites may be required
• Complete confidentiality is expected and required in this role due to the sensitive business and personal information that the role may come into contact with
