Job summary

HM Staffing Solutions LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking a proactive Safety Coordinator to champion a culture of safety across our operations. You will develop and maintain comprehensive safety programs, conduct site inspections, and lead training sessions to keep teams compliant and healthy on the job.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field, at least 2 years of safety coordination experience, and familiarity with OSHA/EPA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in safety coordination, preferably in construction or industrial settings.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
• CHST or STSC completion or test scheduled required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Lead safety training sessions and orientations for new and existing employees.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with management and regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA) to uphold safety standards.
• Promote safety awareness and lead initiatives to improve workplace safety culture.
