Job summary

Caltrans is seeking a Safety & Compliance Services Office Chief (Supervisor II) in Alameda County. You will lead and supervise a team delivering EEO, health and safety services, and support functions within the Administration; ensuring high‑level oversight and program integrity.

The role supports telework, with in‑person duties as needed, and requires a valid driver’s license. The position is permanent, full‑time within the California Department of Transportation.

Qualifications

• Leadership and supervising multidisciplinary units.
• Experience identifying areas for operational improvement and change management.
• Strong writing and communication skills for SOQ and selection materials.

Responsibilities

• Direct, organize, plan and supervise staff across multiple programs.
• Provide high‑level oversight of Equal Employment Opportunity Executive, Support Services, and Health and Safety Services.
• Oversee compliance management and related administrative functions within District 4.
