Job summary

Challenge Unlimited in Alton, IL is seeking a Manager of Safety to drive the organization’s safety strategy and ensure compliance with OSHA standards. The role reports to the Director of Safety & Quality Assurance and supports the Zero Accident Culture across operations.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with salary in the $55,000–$65,000 range. Requires a high school diploma, safety training, and strong leadership in safety programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years with degree in safety; 5 years management/training in safety or OSHA programs without degree.
• CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30 Construction, Serve Safe certificate required within first 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Safety Oversight: maintain knowledge of safety policies; ensure OSHA compliance and promote Zero Accident Culture.
• Safety Investigations/Audits/Training: conduct inspections; correct hazards; coordinate safety training.
• Management and Regulatory Reporting: maintain site documentation; report to federal/state/local agencies.
• Incident Management: oversee investigations; implement preventive measures; manage workers' comp program.
• Employee Relations: foster safe culture; communicate with managers, clients, staff.
