Smurfit WestRock seeks a Safety Manager to oversee occupational safety and health at the facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws to prevent hazards. You will develop safety programs, educate supervisors, and lead efforts to minimize risks and injuries.

The role requires strong communication, robust knowledge of safety regulations, and a track record of driving safety improvements through training and leadership.

Formación

• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire compliance with safety policies.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain safety education training programs within the plant environment.
• Maintain and update safety procedures, SOPs, and policies.
• Partner with manufacturing managers to review and improve safety practices and ensure adoption by employees.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, regulations, and reporting in manufacturing.
• Perform hazardous risk assessments to identify hazards and create risk prevention plans.
• Review accident/injury reports and data; ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Coordinate with workers' compensation and general liability insurance representatives for policy compliance.
• Assist in administering the safety incentive program, including participation tracking and ensuring incentives are paid.
• Manage environmental regulation compliance (e.g., air permits, water runoff).
• Model and promote a culture of safe practices through leadership and training.
