Job summary

Smurfit WestRock, a leading sustainable packaging company, seeks an EHS Manager to lead safety and environmental excellence on site and align with regulatory requirements. You will drive risk assessments, incident investigations, training, and KPI development with local leadership and COE teams.

You will coach employees, foster a culture of proactive safety, manage EHS programs (LOTO, machine guarding, waste, air and stormwater permits), and ensure timely reporting to OSHA and regulators while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or equivalent.
• At least two years of EHS management experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coach and engage others to follow EHS policies.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety and environmental culture across the site and with COE teams.
• Drive Environmental and Safety Excellence programs and risk assessments.
• Conduct thorough investigations of EHS incidents using human and organizational performance approaches.
• Develop and track site EHS KPIs, training plans, and reporting to regulators.
• Coordinate site safety inspections, audits, and calendar of compliance tasks.
• Partner with HR and leadership to empower employees to speak up and follow EHS policies.
