Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to lead safety initiatives on large-scale heavy civil projects in the Kansas City area. You will conduct site visits, audits, and risk assessments, and partner with project teams to implement corrective actions.

The role requires visiting active job sites, strong communication with field leadership, and a proactive safety culture to protect workers and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy civil construction safety.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently to active jobsites.
• Strong field presence and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operations and field leadership.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
