Job summary

Pilz Automation Safety, L.P. in Canton Charter Township, MI seeks a Safety Application Engineer to support customers in applying Pilz product lines, perform risk assessments, design safety solutions, and validate systems. Travel up to 80% with on-site work at customer facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering Technology or similar.
• Ability to read electrical/controls schematics; power and control wiring.
• Understanding of basic electrical design and control principles of industrial machines.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Answer and document customer inquiries related to technical application of Pilz product lines.
• Test and verify customer products/returns; provide technical product training as needed.
• Develop PLC programming code including Ladder, Structured Text, Function Block.
• Install and troubleshoot hardware and peripheral devices at customer sites.
• Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments; perform on-site validation.
