Job summary

Hirsch Pipe & Supply Co. seeks a proactive Safety Training Coordinator to strengthen our safety culture across locations in Southern California.

You’ll be a trainer, coach, and safety partner, leading audits, investigations, and regulatory inspections to ensure employees have the knowledge and tools to work safely every day. You will partner with HR and leadership to address safety concerns, train employees including drivers, and maintain accurate safety records while promoting a proactive

Qualifications

Previous experience in workplace safety, safety training, operations, warehouse/distribution, transportation, or a related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and practices preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to train and coach employees at all levels.
Hands-on training in warehouses, branches, distribution, and operations environments.
Good documentation and investigation support for safety incidents and violations.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills and ability to travel to locations.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety and operational audits to identify hazards and ensure OSHA compliance.
Coordinate and conduct employee safety training, including new and ongoing programs.
Train light-truck drivers on loading, tie-downs, and equipment use.
Provide follow-up safety training after accidents or concerns.
Assist with safety investigations and workplace inspections with HR and management.
Identify safety concerns and recommend corrective actions with HR.
Help managers and employees follow safety policies and procedures.
Maintain safety records, training docs, and compliance materials.
Monitor facilities to ensure safety and security standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety and operational audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company policies, and established safety procedures.
Coordinate and conduct employee safety training, including new and ongoing training as needed.
Train light-truck drivers on proper loading, material securement/tie-down procedures, and equipment use.
Provide follow-up safety and equipment training following accidents, incidents, or identified safety concerns.
Partner with Human Resources and leadership to assist with workplace safety investigations, accidents, incidents, and safety violations.
Identify safety concerns and recommend appropriate corrective actions in partnership with Human Resources and management.
Help managers and employees understand and consistently follow company safety policies and procedures.
Assist with and respond to facility inspections conducted by outside agencies, including the fire department, CUPA, and other regulatory agencies.
Maintain accurate and organized safety records, training documentation, inspection records, and compliance-related materials.
Monitor facilities and work practices to help ensure compliance with company safety and security standards.
Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable safety resource for employees and managers.
Help promote a positive, proactive safety-first culture throughout the organization.

Job Requirements

Previous experience in workplace safety, safety training, operations, warehouse/distribution, transportation, or a related field preferred.
Working knowledge of OSHA workplace safety requirements and general safety practices preferred.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively train and coach employees at all levels.
Comfortable conducting hands‑on training and working in warehouses, branches, distribution, and operational environments.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential hazards and safety concerns.
Ability to professionally document and assist with investigations involving workplace accidents, incidents, and safety violations.
Strong organizational and record‑keeping skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with Human Resources, management, drivers, warehouse employees, and other team members.
Ability to communicate safety expectations clearly while maintaining a positive and professional approach.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to company locations as required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn company safety and training systems.
