Job summary

Big Sky Resort is seeking a Safety and Security Officer to patrol resort properties, respond to incidents, and ensure the safety of guests and employees across hotels, dining venues and employee housing.

You will maintain a visible security presence, cover day, night and overnight shifts, and coordinate with local emergency services as needed. You will draft incident reports, maintain daily logs, and monitor CCTV to identify safety concerns in real time.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and climb stairs.
• Able to stand/walk for 8+ hours.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Montana Guard Card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visible presence patrolling resort-owned properties.
• Provide security coverage during day, night, or overnight shifts.
• Respond to security incidents and coordinate with local emergency services as needed.
• Draft incident and activity reports; maintain logs daily.
• Monitor CCTV and identify safety concerns in real time.
• Assist with investigations and safety initiatives across departments.
• Support Security Manager with safety and emergency projects.
• Uphold resort policies to ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.

From hotels and restaurants to employee housing, this role covers it all. We’re looking for reliable, self-motivated individuals who are comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Shifts may include days, nights, or overnights depending on business needs.

Picture yourself as a Safety and Security Officer at Big Sky Resort and having the opportunity to:

• Maintain a visible presence by patrolling interior and exterior resort-owned properties using company vehicles and equipment
• Provide security coverage during business and non-business hours, including overnight shifts
• Respond promptly to any security or emergency incidents, including coordination with local emergency services as needed
• Draft thorough incident and accident reports, and maintain accurate daily activity logs
• Monitor resort activity using CCTV systems and identify safety or security concerns in real time
• Assist with investigations, hazard identification, and other safety initiatives across departments
• Support the Security Manager with ongoing safety and emergency preparedness projects
• Uphold resort policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for both guests and employees

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted and climb multiple flights of stairs throughout the shift
• Must be able to stand and walk for 8 or more hours at a time
• Current CPR certification and Montana State Guard Card are preferred
• One year of experience in hospitality or a related field is strongly preferred
• Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and professionalism
• Must be comfortable working day, night, or overnight shifts as needed
