Job summary

Ag Valley Co-Op is seeking a Safety and Compliance Technician to support the Safety Manager in implementing safety and regulatory programs across all Ag Valley locations in Nebraska. This field-based role helps prevent injuries, maintains records, and ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and related requirements.

The role involves delivering safety training, conducting inspections, documenting incidents, and maintaining audit-ready records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in safety with OSHA, EPA, DOT experience.
• Experience with inspections, incident reporting, and regulatory filings.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned safety training and track completion and certification deadlines.
• Conduct inspections, document hazards, and verify corrective actions are completed.
• Respond to and document injuries, near misses, spills, property damage, vehicle accidents, and other incidents; gather facts and support root-cause analysis.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready safety, training, inspection, injury, environmental, DOT, and corrective-action records.
• Support OSHA, EPA, DOT, workers' compensation, drug and alcohol testing, and related compliance activities.
• Coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices, PPE, emergency procedures, hazard reporting, and policy expectations.
• Monitor deadlines, recurring deficiencies, and regulatory changes; elevate significant concerns or matters outside assigned authority.
• Stop work when an imminent danger exists, notify management promptly, protect confidential information, and travel among assigned locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Five years of safety experience; to include OSHA, EPA, DOT and workers comp and ability to apply regulations accurately
• Experience with inspections, incident documentation, reports, records, and regulatory filings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, insurability, and willingness to complete required collector training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Agricultural experience a plus.
• Relevant hazmat, equipment train-the-trainer, and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
