Exact Metrology: A Division of In-Place Machining Company seeks a Safety Intern to support day-to-day safety initiatives at the Portland, OR facility. This part-time internship is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety or EHS and offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

The role is flexible to accommodate class schedules, with hours ranging 15–20 per week and opportunities to participate in safety programs, audits, and training records.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, EHS, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable interacting with employees on the production floor.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Interest in workplace safety, compliance, and employee well-being.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety audits and facility inspections
• Assist with hazard identification and corrective action tracking
• Support incident investigations and near-miss reporting
• Perform safety observations on the shop floor
• Help update and organize safety documentation, records, and training logs
• Assist with PPE compliance and safety program implementation
• Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks
• Support ergonomic assessments and workplace improvement initiatives
• Help maintain OSHA-related documentation and compliance records
• Assist with safety training preparation and employee engagement activities

We are seeking a motivated Safety Intern to assist with day-to-day safety initiatives at our Portland, OR facility. Hours: 15-20 hours per week, (Flexible Schedule between 7am-10pm)

What You'll Do
