The Environmental Health and Safety ( EHS ) Department is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and inspection of safety related aspects at New Mexico Highlands University (Highlands). The EHS Department provides multiple functions to the campus; however, the primary responsibility is to implement health and safety practices for the University and inspect and maintain the fire suppression systems on campus. The EHS Department will provide experience for employees seeking job opportunities in: fire suppression, fire prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Act ( OSHA ) related jobs, safety management, public safety, and/or chemical handling.
Job description may include routine, varied, and moderately complex duties involving a moderate degree of responsibility and judgment. May require previous training or equivalent experience. May direct or coordinate activities of other student employees.
