Job summary

Safety Management Group is seeking a Safety Advisor – Construction in Lafayette, Indiana. The role focuses on site safety oversight while roofing sections are replaced with new steel, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures for the contractor and owner.

The candidate will perform safety observations, hazard analyses, incident reporting, and safety meetings while coordinating with project teams and field staff. Per diem and premium pay are available for eligible workers.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of construction safety experience.
• Fall protection experience.
• OSHA 30-hr Construction certification.

Responsibilities

• Site safety observations, including documentation of findings.
• Must be able to create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis.
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings.
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors.
• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings.
• Provide incident management and support.
• Documentation and report preparation.
• Conducts Contractor program reviews.

SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in Lafayette, Indiana – Per diem is available

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment providing safety oversight while roofing sections are taken out and upgraded with new steel.

Additional Information

• SMG full-time, benefitted Associates are eligible for Premium Pay after working 40 billable hours for the week. Premium pay is at a 1.35 multiplier.
• Per Diem is available for non-local candidates only. Per diem is $165/day for this project.
• $400 Road Warrior Benefit each month.
• Annual pay/merit review/increase.

Requirements

• Three plus years of construction safety experience
• Previous fall protection expereince
• A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
• First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• OSHA 30-hr Construction

Physical Demands of the job may include
