Qualifications

• Three plus years of construction safety experience.
• First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
• OSHA 30-hr Construction.

Responsibilities

• Site safety observations and documentation of findings.
• Create reports, run safety metrics, and use safety software.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis.
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings.
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors.
• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings.
• Provides incident management and support.
• Documentation and report preparation.
• Conducts Contractor program reviews.

SMG seeks a Safety Advisor - Construction in Commercial Point, OH - Day Shift

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment. They will provide safety oversight during ongoing construction of an automated storage racking system.

Additional Information

• SMG full-time, benefitted Associates are eligible for Premium Pay after working 40 billable hours for the week. Premium pay is at a 1.35 multiplier.
• Per Diem is available for non-local candidates only. Per diem is $1,190/week for this project.
• This projects anticpated duration is 3 months. Anticipated schedule is Mon-Saturday, up to 10 hours per day. Schedule could change.
• $400 Road Warrior Benefit each month.
• Annual pay/merit review/increase.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

• Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
• Must be able to create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings

Requirements

• Three plus years of construction safety experience
• BSCP Cert preferred - CSP, CHST, STSC, etc.
• A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
• First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• OSHA 30-hr Construction

Physical Demands of the job may include

• Moving about long distances
