Job summary

Centro, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a proactive Safety Coordinator to promote a safety-first culture across our manufacturing operation.

You will implement safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, conduct training, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement to keep everyone safe. The role involves coordinating inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and return-to-work processes, plus mentoring leaders on safety practices and managing safety budgets.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on action items.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and incident investigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Promote and reinforce a culture of workplace safety across all departments.
• Ensure implementation of safety strategies and action plans to achieve established safety goals.
• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate safety training programs for employees.
• Conduct workplace safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and correct hazards.
• Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Manage and track safety incidents, near misses, first aid cases, and OSHA recordable events.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and stay current with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and support the facility Safety Team, including goal development and action planning.
• Perform regular facility safety audits and recommend improvements.
• Partner with leadership to implement preventive safety measures and best practices.
• Assist with workers' compensation case management and return-to-work programs.
• Monitor safety-related costs and assist in managing the safety budget.
• Communicate safety topics and updates during team meetings and throughout the organization.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to leaders and team members regarding safety practices.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace health and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
