Coordinates the transfer of incoming and outgoing securities between the Bank, its shareholders, and custodian. Provides direction and guidance to customers on trade settlements and inquiries. Communicates timely and accurately with shareholders and escalates issues with the custodian. Identifies inquiry trends and root causes and alerts management. Processes and tracks voluntary corporate actions, ensuring accuracy and timely execution of instruction. Performs Safekeeping reconciliation functions daily. Conducts shareholder onboarding and general Safekeeping trades and Public Unit Deposits services education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Inputs and/or authorizes purchase and sale securities trade instructions in the Bank and custodian systems.
• Reviews trade input screens against instructions received from shareholders for accuracy and makes corrections, as necessary.
• Monitors settlement of securities transactions in the Bank’s custodian system.
• Performs initiation or approval of start-of-day or end-of-day safekeeping reconciliation and related wire transfer functions, when needed in-keeping with maker/checker controls.
• Research shareholder and internal inquiries and escalates to custodian when needed; submits inquiries in accordance with stated department procedures and upon resolution of an inquiry by the custodian, communicates resolution timely and accurately with the shareholder in accordance with Safekeeping policies and procedures.
• Reviews and researches the status of outstanding inquiries and claims daily, follows-up with parties involved with the inquiry, and communicates with other Safekeeping staff regarding inquiries which may impact their processing.
• Alerts management of any extended inquiry resolution delays and submits inquiry workflows to management for review and approval.
• Processes and tracks voluntary corporate action instruction.
• Act as voluntary corporate action subject matter expert. Reviews the custodian’s system daily to ensure timely and accurate processing of voluntary corporate actions. Recommend improvements to mitigate risk and optimize corporate action processing.
• Answers phone calls and assists with shareholder education on Safekeeping and Public Unit Deposit services.
• Assists shareholders with establishing FHLBAccess system access and provide training on site navigation and functions.
• Coordinates shareholder communication regarding account set-ups and collaborates with customer contacts to compile all required documentation to open new accounts.
• Actively participates in the review of Safekeeping and Public Unit Deposits procedures and makes policy, process, and documentation change recommendations, as needed.
• Assists with daily OFAC analysis and review for trade activity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to interact with employees within the department, other departments, all levels of management, customers, custodian banks, vendors and third parties.
• Proficient computer skills and attention to detail are necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Two years technical/college education and three years of customer service experience, preferably in security safekeeping, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Work Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Atlanta, GA office. This position may not be filled in New Jersey, either in-person or remotely.

Work Schedule: Onsite with an opportunity to work remote partially.
