Job Title: Safeguards Access Operations Specialist

Contract: 6 Months with Possibility of Extension/Conversion.
Pay Range: $110–$120/hour on W-2
Position Overview
- As a Safeguards Access Operations Specialist, you will help operate programs that determine which organizations receive access to advanced AI models and capabilities and ensure that access remains appropriate over time.
- You will review applications against established eligibility criteria, verify organizational identity and stated use cases, document clear decision rationales, manage access changes, and coordinate with internal stakeholders when additional review or escalation is required.
- These programs are new and evolving, so success in this role requires strong operational judgment, attention to detail, consistent application of written policies, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing guidelines.
- Important: This position may involve exposure to sensitive content, including material related to cybersecurity misuse and other high-risk domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Review applications for trusted and special access programs against established eligibility criteria.
- Verify organizational identity, business information, stated use cases, and relevant account history.
- Conduct business verification, identity verification, due diligence, and related operational checks as required.
- Assess applications against written policies and document clear, concise rationales for decisions.
- Provision, suspend, or revoke access according to established procedures and maintain complete case records.
- Monitor participating organizations for potential policy violations, compromised credentials, or activity outside approved use cases.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases with clear supporting evidence and context.
- Process exemption, access, and data-handling requests requiring manual review.
- Coordinate with sales, account teams, policy, enforcement, and other internal stakeholders to resolve cases.
- Draft clear customer-facing communications related to approvals, access changes, or policy concerns.
- Re-review disputed or potentially misclassified eligibility decisions using internal context and publicly available information.
- Identify gaps between written policies and real-world cases and recommend improvements to review procedures, checklists, and tooling.
- Support increased review volumes during program launches, expansions, and other periods of high demand.
- Track and report on queue volume, turnaround times, review outcomes, and operational trends.
Core Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in trust & safety, fraud operations, risk operations, compliance, KYC/KYB, identity verification, due diligence, or a similar operations environment.
- Experience making decisions based on written policies, eligibility criteria, or established procedures.
- Strong operational judgment and ability to distinguish straightforward cases from situations requiring escalation.
- Ability to review detailed information, identify inconsistencies or risk indicators, and reach well-supported decisions.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce concise decision rationales and professional customer communications.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready case documentation.
- Comfortable working with evolving policies, processes, and program requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities while maintaining accuracy and turnaround expectations.
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to independently research organizations, individuals, business information, and stated use cases when needed.
- Genuine interest in AI safety, responsible AI deployment, or emerging technology risk.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience is a plus but is not required:
- Business verification (KYB), customer verification (KYC), or identity verification (IDV).
- Experience reviewing organizations such as pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, research organizations, universities, or academic laboratort
