Torrey Holistics is seeking a Saddle Stitch & Post-Press Specialist in Hillsboro, OR to own the finishing floor from setup to quality checks.

You will operate saddle stitcher, die-cutting and trimming equipment, ensuring precise centerfold staples and clean press sheets, while maintaining counts and quality across runs. This role requires attention to detail, ability to lift 40 pounds, and comfort with measurement systems; schedule is Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, starting at $24/hour.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in commercial/industrial print production with positive references.
  • 1+ year operating bindery equipment; saddle stitching experience preferred.
  • Accurate in a fast-paced setting with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds and work standing for long periods.
  • Comfort using digital systems to track production and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate printers, binders, trimmers and finishing systems.
  • Run saddle stitch binding for magazines and thin publications.
  • Use die-cutting for shapes and decorative elements.
  • Operate large trimmer to produce uniform press sheets.
  • Adjust settings to meet specs, perform maintenance, troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Maintain quality and accurate quantity counts across runs.
  • Communicate with team and assist other stations as needed.

You set up the saddle stitcher to drive staples precisely through the centerfold of signatures, turning stacks into clean, professional publications. Between runs, you switch to the die-cutter to create distinctive cut-outs and embellishments, then over to the large trimmer to produce uniformly sized press sheets.Throughout the day, you adjust machine settings for accuracy and throughput, tackle routine maintenance, clean parts, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues. You track counts and quality independently, escalate issues fast if something’s off, and jump in to assist other production stations when the schedule shifts.
