Job summary

Rising Stars is seeking enthusiastic part-time coaches to lead after-school classes in Sacramento, CA. You will teach kids and keep sessions engaging, focusing on movement, dance, yoga, and sports to promote physical, emotional, and mental health. Shifts are 1.25 hours long, with set hours after school, 2–3 days per week.

In-person, local travel may be required. We provide training, curricula, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school classes for 1.25 hours, weekly.
• Teach and supervise groups of 8–16 kids.
• Set up classroom materials and equipment for each session.
• Deliver activities that are FUN while supporting kids' health.
• Adhere to curriculum and schedule across sessions.
• Ensure safety and positive behavior during activities.

Job Details

• Job Type: Part-time


• Pay: $28-$32 per hour


• Schedule: After school Day shift


• Work Location: In person


• Coaches are hired as part time employees

Shift Details

Shifts are 1.25 hours and meet once per week after school dismissal in the afternoons. A shift includes set-up and teaching the class. The most important part of our job is having FUN, while making a tremendous impact on kids.

Session commitments are 6-12 weeks at a time. We are off for school holidays.

Requirements to Coach

• 18 years of age and up


• Have your own transportation


• Positive, Patient, enthusiastic demeanor


• Punctual and able to commit to 8 - 15 week sessions.


• Enjoys being around kids and is confident in managing a group of 8-16 kids


• No coaching experience required. (if you are 18-19 you must have some experience working with youth)


• Availability weekday afternoons for one to two 1.25 hour shifts between times of 12:30pm-5:00pm. Times vary per school, and day.

Additional Teaching Details

You can teach 1-2 classes per afternoon; 1-8 total classes per week. (on some days coaches can teach at 2 schools)
