Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior financial leader to own the close process, consolidate US GAAP statements, and deliver reporting to the CFO, PE sponsor, and board. You will establish technical accounting standards and oversee capitalized software costs, stock‑based compensation, leases, and business combinations.

In a PE‑backed SaaS environment, design scalable controls, manage external audits, and drive ERP and revenue‑recognition system integrations.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Prior VP Controller, Controller, or Assistant Controller experience at a SaaS or subscription‑based company.
• Prior PE‑owned or PE‑backed portfolio company experience strongly preferred.
• CPA required; Big 4 or national firm background preferred.
• Deep, hands‑on ASC 606 expertise for SaaS/subscription models.
• Experience leading external audits and building SOX‑ready controls.
• Strong systems background with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP.
• Experience with rev rec tools like Zuora/Chargebee/Maxio a plus.
• Track record of scaling accounting processes and teams during rapid growth.
• Excellent communication skills; able to present to CFO, board, and sponsor.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and reduce close timeline.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements under US GAAP.
• Deliver reporting packages for CFO, PE sponsor, and board of directors.
• Serve as technical accounting authority for ASC 606 SaaS revenue recognition.
• Own accounting for capitalized software development costs, stock‑based compensation, leases, and business combinations.
• Draft technical accounting memos and maintain policy manuals.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable internal controls environment.
• Manage the external audit, including audit firm, PBC lists, and timeline.
• Ensure compliance with multi‑state SaaS taxes and indirect taxes.
• Drive ERP and accounting systems strategy; manage revenue‑recognition subledger integrations.
• Build scalable processes and controls to support growth and PE reporting.
• Mentor and scale the accounting team; partner with the CFO on capital structure and sponsor communications.
