Job summary

Blazer Electric Supply in Southern Colorado is seeking a delivery driver to transport materials to customers and support warehouse operations.

You will safely drive to assigned routes, verify loads, obtain signed receipts, scan deliveries, keep the truck log current, and promote good customer relations while reporting feedback to management. Steel-toed boots are required and DOT medical exam is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass DOT medical exam; steel-toed boots required.
• CDL not required but a valid DOT medical exam is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive truck or van to transport materials within the specified area and verify loads against shipping papers.
• Scan each delivery into the system and maintain the truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Determine best routes to ensure timely delivery and record delivery information; inspect truck equipment and supplies as required.
• Lift and move inventory around the warehouse and load/unload trucks as needed.
• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment following safety procedures.

Overview:

• Transport materials to customers.

Typical Functions:

• Safely drive truck or van to transport materials within specified area; verify loads against shipping papers; obtain signed receipts for material delivered.
• Scan each delivery into system before leaving the warehouse; maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Determine best route for effective delivery of product that will satisfy customers’ expectations of a timely delivery; record delivery information; inspect truck equipment and supplies as required, and immediately report any deficiencies to ensure safe operation.
• Perform any and all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse, as well as load and unload trucks.
• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers’ instructions; follow all Company safety procedures.
• May perform Material Handler responsibilities when not engaged in primary responsibilities.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations; may promote new sales as opportunities arise.
• Take an active role in communicating customer feedback to Company management, including customer complaints, requests, returns, performance, competitive information, and potential opportunities.

Work Shift and Hours:

Monday - Friday, 5:30am - 2:30pm

Compensation Details:

The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $20.00 per hour depending on experience.

Additional Information:

• Steel toed boots required.
