Job summary

NVA General Practice in Brentwood, CA is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join a fast-paced, team-driven hospital. The RVT will assist veterinarians in exams and surgeries, manage medications, radiographs, anesthesia, and client education.

Qualifications

• California RVT license required
• Strong technical skills and desire to grow
• Ability to work in fast-paced, team-driven environment
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and detail orientation
• Comfort with lifting up to 40 lbs and handling large dogs

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians during exams, surgeries, procedures, and euthanasia
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
• Perform diagnostic tests and radiographs
• Prepare animals for surgery and anesthesia, including IV catheter placement
• Administer and monitor anesthesia and assist in recovery
• Perform dental cleanings and radiographs, assist with extractions
• Maintain accurate medical records and a clean, safe environment
• Provide emergency first aid as needed
• Sterilize instruments and equipment
• Handle pharmacy tasks and online orders
• Provide excellent client communication and education
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace
