Job summary

Old Towne Animal Hospital in Fair Oaks is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Veterinary Assistant to join a dedicated team. The role includes handling medical records, client communications and assisting with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia and surgery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Answering phones and scheduling appointments.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.

• Cleaning cages and kennels, general care of hospitalized patients.
• Filling multiple prescriptions daily and contacting outside pharmacies.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the veterinary field preferred or currently enrolled in the fourth term of a Veterinary Technician program.
• Must be reliable, possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, strategic thinking abilities, and extreme attention to detail.
• Capacity to multi-task while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude.

• General knowledge of flea and heartworm preventatives, medications, vaccines, etc.
• Confident in venipuncture

• Self-motivated and eager to learn.
• Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to different clients, staff, and management styles.
