Job summary

Foretravel Inc in Nacogdoches, TX seeks a Design Engineer to lead design and documentation of motorhome systems from concept to production. You will own CAD models, drawings, and BOMs, driving ECOs and DFx improvements.

Collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Service is essential to ensure manufacturability and compliance. The role emphasizes design for reliability, field feedback, and lifecycle support with strong emphasis on real-world problem solving and documentation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical or related field.
2+ years of mechanical/electromechanical design experience.
Proficiency with 3D CAD; Creo strongly preferred.
Knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, and ASME Y14.5.
Ability to read schematics and technical specs.
Experience with BOM structuring and revision control.

Responsibilities

Design components, assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD (Creo) per RVIA and standards.
Create and maintain drawings, models, and BOMs for production.
Prepare ECOs/Change Notices with proper revision control.
Apply DFM/DFA to reduce cost and improve manufacturability.
Develop prototypes and perform design verification/validation testing.
Root cause analysis of field/warranty issues and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with Production and Service to resolve build/design issues.
Support supplier evaluation and review drawings/specs.
Ensure designs comply with RVIA, DOT, FMVSS and regulations.
Maintain engineering documentation and CAD data.
