Matic Robots Inc. in Menlo Park, CA is seeking a meticulous Software Engineer with a strong Rust background to join our Platform team on the ground floor, with potential for huge impact.

You’ll work on a broad set of problems, from low-level driver and kernel development to interfacing with perception algorithms running locally on the robot, with high performance expectations and limited compute resources. On-site in the Bay Area, you’ll help build the next generation of home robotics software.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Rust; knowledge of C/C++ is a plus.
• Experience with Linux userspace programming.
• Strong track record of shipping reliable software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Build software systems ranging from compute graphs to auto-update of software/firmware.
• Design secure, efficient real-time data and video transfer protocols.
• Perform root cause analysis of crashes and fix issues.
• Develop tools to improve developer efficiency and infra.
• Collaborate with Software, Algorithms and Hardware teams to ship product vision.
