Job summary

Matic Robots Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineer to bridge software and hardware for home-robotics systems. You will work across firmware and hardware teams to implement robust control algorithms, sensor interfaces, and real-time debugging tools.

You should excel in C/C++, embedded platforms, and microcontroller firmware, with a willingness to learn Rust for future projects and a hands-on approach to hardware challenges.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industry experience or equivalent (e.g. grad school).
• Deep experience with systems programming languages: C, C++, Rust, etc.
• Experience / comfort with scripting / prototyping languages: Python, etc.
• Experience with hardware (motors, sensors, drivers) and electronics fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Bring-up and support for hardware changes (electrical/mechanical). Update drivers and validate new sensors during assembly.
• Design and improve behavioral logic and controls algorithms for Matic’s physical systems.
• Analyze robot logs, motor and sensor data to debug hardware failures and performance issues.
• Support internal tooling to interface with motors and sensors.
