Job summary

fab2 is seeking a Software Intern to contribute to Studio, a browser-based, multiplayer platform for chip design. You will work on end-to-end Rust applications, owning features from concept through shipping and collaborating across a small, fast-moving team.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, learning the stack in a hardware-focused startup with real-time tools, a strong engineering culture, and generous internship benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong Rust or serious C++/systems experience.
• Solid systems fundamentals: memory, performance, concurrency.
• A track record of non-trivial software you built from scratch and can walk us through end to end.

Responsibilities

• Own major features from design through shipping, touching the full stack.
• Develop deeply interactive, low-latency editing tools and intuitive UI.
• Build a real-time collaborative document model for multi-user work.
• Implement a sync engine to stream edits between clients with high bandwidth.
• Create a GPU canvas that renders millions of polygons efficiently.
• Develop an interactive simulation workflow with fast feedback.
