Job summary

Metron in Reston, VA is seeking a mid-level Rust Developer to build and optimize production software for simulation, optimization, and decision support in mission-focused environments.

You will work in a large Rust codebase, collaborating with researchers and engineers to translate complex algorithms into performant software and integrate with backend services and databases. Office-based role, 5 days a week in Reston, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, applied math, or related field.
• At least 3 years of industry experience.
• Experience in writing production-grade performance-sensitive software in Rust.
• Experience building backend services with Axum.
• Experience with async code with Tokio.
• Ability to work effectively with researchers, engineers, and end users to translate technical concepts into usable software.
• Familiarity with full-stack web application development in any frameworks/languages.
• U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED; successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• Ability to obtain an Interim Security Clearance.
