Job summary

MatX Inc. seeks engineers with strong Rust skills to verify our silicon through software models and hardware design. You will write Rust tests, build scalable test infra, and develop harnesses linking tests to hardware.

The role blends software and hardware verification with a focus on correctness and robust tooling. You will work in a hybrid setting at our Mountain View, CA office, three days a week, collaborating with architects and design engineers.

Qualifications

• Proficient in production Rust with ownership, traits, generics, and enums
• Strong engineering fundamentals: clean, well-tested code with CI workflows
• Comfortable with low-level systems concepts: memory layout, concurrency, bit manipulation
• Genuinely interested in hardware and willing to ramp quickly on chip verification

Responsibilities

• Write Rust tests that verify software models and hardware design agree with the specification
• Build test infrastructure in Rust to add tests and run them at scale
• Develop and maintain harnesses connecting tests to hardware
• Write tests that explore corner cases and rare event sequences including randomized tests
• Collaborate with architects to translate specifications into testable properties
