Job summary

Down Home North Carolina seeks field canvassers for our 2026 campaigns in North Carolina. This contract role focuses on door-to-door conversations to inform voters about when, where, and how to vote, and to recruit more supporters for our multiracial, working-class movement.

The ideal candidate is a people-person with excellent listening skills, capable of independent work and strong teamwork, with flexible afternoon/evening shifts and willingness to travel regularly.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and listening skills needed to engage with community members.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and also independently managing shifts.
• Strong listening skills and rapport-building with diverse individuals.
• Commitment to Down Home North Carolina’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Have conversations with community members through door-to-door canvassing.
• Participate in 4 to 6 canvasses per week.
• Ensure data and information collection are accurate and consistent.
• Troubleshoot issues within the program as needed.
• Work in a team-centered environment.
