Job summary

Steele Memorial Medical Center's SMMC Rural Health Center in Salmon, ID seeks a compassionate Physician Assistant to join our walk-in clinic and deliver same-day care for patients of all ages in a fast-paced team setting.

The ideal candidate will evaluate and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries, perform exams and histories, order tests, prescribe medications, and provide patient education while collaborating with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Active Idaho licensure or eligible for licensure.
• DEA registration or ability to obtain.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience in urgent care, walk-in clinic, family medicine, emergency medicine, or primary care.
• Strong clinical decision-making and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries.
• Perform patient assessments, physical exams, and medical histories.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
• Provide patient education and preventive health guidance.
• Perform minor office procedures, including wound care, splinting, and suturing.
• Document patient encounters accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care.
