As a Rural Outreach Therapist at High Plains Mental Health Center, you’ll be part of a brand-new program bringing behavioral health care directly to underserved communities across our 20-county service area in Northwest Kansas. Instead of waiting for clients to come to the clinic, you’ll take care to them.
You don’t have to live in Hays. If you’re licensed in Kansas and willing to travel throughout our 20-county service area, you can bring your clinical skills to communities that need them most.
You’ll have a Center-operated mobile office and a Patient Navigator/Support Staff member working alongside you, giving you the tools and support to provide therapy, assessments, crisis services, and care coordination in rural communities.
We are a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), which means we’re committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care - and that commitment extends to how we support our staff. Supervision here isn’t occasional or optional - it’s a core part of how we operate. You’ll receive regular clinical supervision, case consultation, and support from experienced supervisors who are actively involved in your professional development.
At High Plains Mental Health Center, we're here for you — not only for the individuals and communities we serve, but for every member of our team. Our mission drives everything we do, and that includes supporting our employees with the same compassion, dedication, and care we offer our clients.
When you join us, you become part of a purpose-driven organization where your work has a real impact. You’ll provide critical mental health services to those who need them most, while being part of a team that values your expertise, supports your well-being, and invests in your professional growth through continuous learning and career advancement opportunities.
