Job summary

North Sunflower is seeking aMedical Assistant for a rural health clinic in Ruleville, Mississippi. The MA will handle clinical and administrative tasks, room patients, document vitals and histories, and support providers in exams and procedures.

Qualifications include HS diploma, MA program graduation, CMA/RMA preferred, and BLS certification. EMR knowledge and strong communication are required to ensure patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinic experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification required or obtained within timeframe.
• Knowledge of EMR systems.
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document medical histories and complaints.
• Record vital signs including BP, temp, pulse, respiration, height, weight.
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer injections and medications as directed.
• Collect specimens and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Perform dressing changes and remove sutures or staples as ordered.
• Maintain medical and surgical asepsis during procedures.
