Job summary

The Center for Family Medicine of Sioux Falls, SD invites applicants to a full-time, 12-month postdoctoral fellowship offering advanced clinical training in Integrated Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH), rural healthcare, and substance use disorder treatment within a high-volume family medicine residency clinic.

The fellowship emphasizes preparing psychologists to address behavioral health needs in rural communities, integrating services into primary care when specialty resources are limited,

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Completion of an APA-accredited internship prior to the fellowship start date.
• Eligibility for psychologist licensure in South Dakota.
• Strong interest in integrated primary care and interdisciplinary practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide brief behavioral health interventions in primary care
• Conduct warm handoffs and same-day consultations
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
• Deliver evidence-based treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, insomnia, and substance use disorders
• Support patients receiving MOUD
• Consult with family medicine residents and faculty
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Contribute to resident and medical student education
