Job summary

Pharmacy First Health in Monticello, IA is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team and help our rural patients access quality medications. You will assist the pharmacist with dispensing, processing prescriptions, and maintaining inventory in a patient-centered environment.

This role emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and compassionate communication with patients. A high school diploma or GED and state-registered certification are required, with on-site work and opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalence is required.
• Certified Pharmacy Tech required by state law for at least 1 year.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working directly with patients.
• Basic computer proficiency; experience with pharmacy software is a plus but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and manage a busy, team-oriented workspace.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in accurately filling and dispensing prescription medications.
• Receive and process prescription orders from patients, physicians, and healthcare providers.
• Manage and maintain pharmacy inventory, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and flagging low-supply items.
• Handle point-of-sale transactions, process insurance claims, and assist patients with billing questions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to answer general inquiries and direct complex questions to the pharmacist.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements at all times.
