Farm Credit Mid-America is seeking a strategic Head of Rural 1st Credit to guide underwriting, servicing, and resolution across the Rural 1st portfolio. You will shape credit strategy, lead risk management, and ensure compliant, efficient processes while driving financial performance for a broad farming and rural customer base.

The role requires extensive experience in consumer lending, risk management, and cross‑functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of consumer lending, credit risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading leaders and developing high-performing teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Holds accountability for consumer credit underwriting and related credit performance, including SLAs and turnaround times.
• Establishes and reviews key metrics for credit quality, administration, accuracy, and compliance.
• Monitors the credit portfolio quality and reports adverse trends, opportunities, risks to leadership.
• Applies advanced credit expertise to resolve complex issues and guide decisions.
• Develops and manages the Consumer Credit departmental budget and efficiency metrics.
• Provides leadership to other leaders to advance organizational priorities.
• Coaches and develops leaders to build capability and engagement.
• Aligns direction and resources across teams to strengthen decision making.
