Fike Corporation is a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment. The company is seeking a day shift Logistics Operator Trainee.

Job Summary

Entry role focused on training and assisting higher level logistics operators. Primary focus on stockroom and material handling with an emphasis on learning and development.

Compensation

Starts at $20/hour based on candidate's experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Orientation to Fike's business system, forklift operation, data entry, and hazardous materials handling.
• Pick customer orders in the stockroom.
• Perform light kitting in the stockroom and electronics production areas.
• Deliver product from receiving to the next point of use.
• Unload package trucks in receiving.
• Count product to support cycle counting and put away product in the stockroom.
• Adhere to safety practices, 6S, and follow Fike policies as well as ISO9001.
• Pass forklift certification within 6 months of hire.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to guarded moving mechanical parts; temperature controlled environment; occasional outdoor environmental conditions; moderate noise level.

Physical Demands

Requires pushing, pulling, stretching, bending, kneeling, and stooping. Regular walking, talking, hearing, hand use, and reaching. Frequently standing; occasional climbing stairs and ladders. Lift up to 65 lbs 60% or more of work time; must lift 50 lbs and move up to 100 lbs using appropriate devices.

• Packages 0‑20 lbs: 65% of the time.
• 21‑40 lbs: 20%.
• 41‑65 lbs: 10%.
• 66 lbs or more: 5% (may use a lifting device).

Job Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to read and follow instructions; basic math and computer skills; forklift operation and basic hand‑operated material handling equipment.
• Preferred: Any experience in logistics.
