Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Runner/Stocker - Food Hall is to create an extraordinary experience by supporting fellow Team Members, ensuring all outlets have necessary materials, and providing guests with prompt service and a clean dining area.
All duties are performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor, providing prompt and memorable service.
- Safely lift, carry, and push carts to transport and stock products across multiple venues.
- Stock and organize products in guest-facing and back-of-house areas, disposing of debris appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest dining areas, including tables, chairs, and countertops.
- Assist with removing used trays, china, glassware, silverware, and trash from venues and communal areas.
- Ensure proper stock levels of cutlery, napkins, and condiments at all stations.
- Retrieve products from support areas like warehouses and prep kitchens.
- Organize and process pallet deliveries, ensuring proper delivery and storage of products.
- Create and follow preparation lists for accurate product delivery and transfer.
- Answer guest questions and provide recommendations to meet guest needs.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Maintain composure during busy periods to ensure standards are met and set a positive example.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Keep all areas clean and organized.
- Safely remove and decontaminate hazardous materials like blood and bodily fluids.
- Comply with all policies and procedures of the department and resort.
- Perform tasks requiring physical and mental dexterity.
- Use equipment, tools, or systems necessary for service completion.
- Act with integrity and promote the culture and values of The Venetian.
- Assist in training new Team Members on policies and procedures.
- Follow safety and security policies, including cash handling procedures.
- Ensure regular attendance as an essential job function.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Company Standards of Conduct:
All Team Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally, observing company standards, work requirements, and rules of conduct.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the US.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Effective communication skills in English, spoken and written.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary certifications/licenses.
- Positive, warm, and welcoming demeanor.
- At least 6 months recent food and beverage experience in a luxury or similar environment.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Lift, push, and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Access all property areas physically.
- Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Walk, stand, push, reach, and kneel for prolonged periods.
- Work indoors and in various environmental conditions.
