Job summary

HOERBIGER in the United States seeks an embedded electronics hardware engineer to own schematic capture and PCB layouts for rugged control systems in industrial engines. You translate requirements into robust hardware, bring up prototypes, and collaborate with firmware, systems, and manufacturing to ensure reliability.

You will design multi-layer PCBs for harsh environments, optimize for EMI/EMC, and support full hardware lifecycle from concept to validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on embedded hardware design with schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Proficiency with EDA tools (KiCad preferred).
• Experience with analog/digital design, power electronics, EMI best practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and develop analog and digital circuits for embedded systems.
• Create detailed schematics for embedded hardware including microcontrollers and power interfaces.
• Select components, perform derating and worst-case analyses for reliability.
• Design high-reliability multi-layer PCBs (4–6 layers) with strong SI, power, and thermal management.
• Optimize layouts for manufacturability, testability, and long-term field reliability.
• Assemble, power-up, and debug first-article prototypes using lab instruments.
• Identify and resolve hardware issues (noise, timings, power sequencing, thermal hotspots).
• Support firmware integration and system-level validation on test stands.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and manufacturing; participate in design reviews.
• Contribute to component libraries and DFx processes; handle field returns investigations.
