Job summary

Abaco Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Product Engineer to own rugged embedded computing products from concept through qualification, production, and sustainment. You will lead hardware integration, verification, and customer interactions across the full lifecycle.

The role requires strong systems thinking, technical leadership, and collaboration with software, hardware, and manufacturing teams, with exposure to environmental qualification testing and DoD-related programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a technical discipline relevant to embedded systems.
• Experience with rugged embedded computing or complex electronic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software interactions.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and deliver practical designs.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine technical solutions for rugged embedded computing products.
• Lead hardware integration, bring-up, troubleshooting, and system validation.
• Develop test strategies and support verification and qualification testing.
• Collaborate with embedded software, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
• Support production transition and lifecycle management activities.
