Job summary

Black Diamond Advanced Technology in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design ruggedized electronic systems for military applications. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (advanced degree a plus).
3–7 years of relevant industry experience in defense, rugged electronics, or similar.
Proficiency with Creo or SolidWorks; familiarity with PDM is a plus.
Experience designing for harsh environments and MIL‑STD testing.

Responsibilities

Design mechanical components, enclosures, and assemblies for ruggedized systems.
Perform 3D modeling, simulation, and mechanical analysis using CAD tools.
Create engineering documentation: drawings, BOMs, test reports, design validations.
Collaborate with electrical and manufacturing engineers to ensure integration and quality.
Support manufacturability improvements and supplier engagement.
