Job summary

STG Inc is seeking a skilled Carpenter to perform specialized carpentry and general construction across Alaska, including rural sites. The role involves building, installing, repairing, and maintaining wood structures, while following safety policies and project schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Five (5) or more years’ related construction/carpentry experience in rural arctic environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled carpentry and general construction work in Alaska and rural field conditions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and layout instructions.
• Construct rough and finished wood structures such as forms, framing, scaffolding, boardwalks, and temporary shelters.
• Install, strip, and repair concrete formwork and assist with placement and finishing activities.
• Load, unload, stage, and transport materials and tools using proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Work with foremen, project managers, and other trades to ensure safe and timely project completion.
• Participate in safety meetings, JHAs, and follow PPE requirements.
• Travel to rural project locations and live in camp-style environments as required.
