Job summary

Rouzati Rugs in Evanston, IL, a premier second-generation rug gallery, seeks a driven Rug Sales Specialist & Design Consultant for our showroom. You will guide walk-in homeowners and trade clients through an inventory of over 5,000 pieces and manage the sales process from consultation to delivery.

We train the team in advanced communication and negotiation to close high-ticket luxury sales. Weekend availability is required, and you will move and position large rugs on the showroom floor.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years in luxury retail, high-ticket sales, or interior design showroom sales.
• A strong eye for textiles and a genuine interest in interior design.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to guide high-net-worth clients and trade pros.
• Coachability and willingness to learn sales frameworks and product knowledge.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to follow up with leads independently.
• Weekend availability is required on a standard retail schedule.

Rouzati Rugs, a premier second-generation family-owned rug gallery, is seeking a driven Rug Sales Specialist & Design Consultant for our Evanston, IL showroom. Serving Chicago and the affluent North Shore, we specialize in high-end antique, vintage, transitional, and modern hand-knotted rugs. In this role, you will act as a consultative partner to both walk-in homeowners and our extensive network of trade clients (interior designers, architects). You will be responsible for guiding clients through our inventory of over 5,000 pieces, managing the sales pipeline from initial consultation to final delivery, and fostering long-term relationships that drive repeat business. We actively train our team in advanced communication and negotiation frameworks to ensure you have the skills to comfortably close high-ticket luxury sales.

• 1–3+ years of experience in luxury retail, high-ticket sales, or interior design showroom sales.
• A strong aesthetic eye and a genuine interest in textiles, interior design, and home furnishings.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently guide high-net-worth clients and trade professionals.
• Coachability and a willingness to learn specialized sales frameworks and deep product knowledge regarding rug provenance, weaving techniques, and materials.
• Self-motivated and highly organized, capable of following up with leads and managing client projects independently.
• Weekend availability is required (standard retail schedule).
• Ability to comfortably assist in moving and flipping large area rugs on the showroom floor.
