The ideal candidate will own outcomes, contribute Ruby and Swift work, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust back-end services and dependable delegation tooling for the Florence operation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years owning outcomes, not just completing tasks.
• Experience with Ruby fundamentals and Swift polish.
• Ability to operate effectively in a Florence-based remote cadence.

Responsibilities

• Tune Elasticsearch queries until the KY database stops timing out under load.
• Translate technology compliance rules into Swift guardrails baked into the build.
• Review pull requests and uphold engineering standards across the technology team.
• Translate fuzzy product wishes from stakeholders into shippable Rust services.
• Chase down the .NET Core integration that silently drops Twitter events at midnight.
• Spike a Ruby proof of concept fast when Twitter needs a yes-or-no answer.
• Design, build, and maintain reliable backend services using Swift and Rust.
• Build the Delegation tooling that makes every other Florence engineer faster.
