Job summary

Victaulic is seeking a Rubber Process Engineer at the Mold Technology Center in Easton, PA. You will design, test, and inspect rubber molds and press equipment, and lead process optimization efforts to improve productivity and reduce scrap.

The role involves collaborating with product development and maintaining mold specs, with safety training duties for Mold Tech staff. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in rubber molding, strong project management, and experience in optimizing rubber

Responsibilities

• Design, test and inspect rubber molds and press equipment to verify product characteristics.
• Optimize rubber molding processes to improve throughput and quality.
• Investigate and implement new rubber molding processes and technology.
• Prepare specifications for process and manufacturing equipment.
• Write and update routing and processing procedures.
• Collaborate with product development engineers to improve designs and processes.
• Troubleshoot rubber processes to reduce scrap and increase productivity.
• Maintain mold specifications by measuring, troubleshooting, and replacing worn tools; ensure QA compliance.
• Lead safety training for Mold Tech personnel and conduct weekly toolbox talks.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts; maintain safe, organized work areas; perform preventative maintenance.

MOLD TECHNOLOGY CENTER:

Mold Tech Center builds, samples and maintains Rubber molds for all Victaulic facilities worldwide.

JOB SUMMARY:

Design, test and inspect rubber molds and press equipment to verify critical product characteristics.

Process optimization in rubber processing operations.

Investigating and implementing new rubber molding processes and technology.

Preparing specifications for process and manufacturing equipment.

Write and update routing and processing procedures.

Work with product development engineers to improve product design and processes.

Troubleshoot rubber process to increase productivity and decrease scrap problems.

Maintains mold specifications by taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

This position also requires safety training of Mold Tech personnel.

Weekly safety toolbox talks.

Operate an overhead crane and drive a forklift.

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintain equipment using preventative maintenance.

Maintain an organized and clean work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Moderate walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work around moving objects, and with machinery with moving parts.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

3 - 5 years' experience in rubber molding processes.

Good project management skills.

Experience in optimizing rubber manufacturing processes.

Ability to interact with a wide variety of people.

Some travel required. Approximately 3-4 times a year for training and visiting Victaulic molding facilities.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

Day shift 40 Hours. Overtime as required.

JOB TYPE: Full-time, permanent

8- and 10-hour shifts
