Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Rubber Materials Engineer – Product Development to support development and commercialization of products using advanced materials including thermoplastics, thermosets, composites, coatings, and metallic alloys.

This role covers concepts through production, with hands-on polymer processing, part design, materials development, testing, and failure analysis. Responsibilities include developing new products, coordinating prototyping, and performing detailed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Materials, Polymer, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with Rubber materials, rubber formulation and rubber molding.
• Knowledge of thermoplastic and thermoset materials, testing, and failure analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate new products, materials, and components.
• Support product design from concept through commercialization and production.
• Develop polymer formulations and evaluate material performance.
• Coordinate prototyping, testing, validation, and pilot production.
• Conduct and interpret thermal, mechanical, and chemical testing, including FTIR, DMA, DSC, TGA, and tensile testing.
• Troubleshoot design, material, tolerance, and manufacturing issues.
• Lead or participate in cross‑functional design reviews.
• Prepare technical documentation and provide product training.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and suppliers.
