Job summary

Sonfarrel Aerospace is seeking a Material prep lead to manage the Rubber prep department. The role reports to the manufacturing manager and supervisor and focuses on setup, scheduling, and process improvements for Rubber Molding and Specialized Seals.

Responsibilities include inventory control, training new employees, and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards. Candidates should be able to prioritize multiple tasks and communicate with production leadership.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

• Receive materials from stockroom and organize them in inventory.
• Keep track of inventory and expired materials.
• Input daily production data into Industrios and report to management.

Job description

SUMMARY

The Material prep lead will have the responsibility of managing the Rubber prep department. He/She will work directly with the manufacturing manager and supervisor of the Rubber department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setting up work for the Material prep department employees pertaining to schedule.
• Overseeing employees in the rubber prep department for both Rubber Molding and Specialized Seals
• Follow BSS7107 & BAC5071 Aerospace standards for better practices.
• TLARGI Basic rubber technology class. Take and complete with certificate of completion.
• Receive all materials from stockroom and put them into inventory.
• Keep track of inventory.
• Keep track of expired materials.
• Monthly cycle counts.
• Train and or assist in training new employees.
• Look at redlining work orders when needed.
• Communicate directly to the production manager and or supervisor.
• Set up and operate machinery used for mixing, calendaring and prepping materials for Rubber department.
• Cross train employees.
• Check and monitor process conditions to obtain better yield.
• Able to prioritize multiple assignments.
• Assist as required throughout the facility when needed.
• Complete assignments in a timely manner
• Input daily production data into Industrios.
• Suggest process and manufacturing improvements when and if insufficient exist on opportunity for improvements.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Work hours: Monday to Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm, fridays off (4/10's)
