Job summary

BD is seeking a Material Handler to transport and supply materials to production, including loading/unloading, moving finished goods, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The role requires forklift certification and basic SAP tooling knowledge, with training provided.

Applicants should be able to lift 20–40 pounds regularly and follow safety procedures. Work location is on site in Sumter, SC, with exposure to fast-paced manufacturing environments and adherence to quality systems.

Qualifications

  • Forklift Certification is required to operate industrial equipment.
  • Experience with SAP and Apriso Flexnet is a plus for materials management.
  • MS Outlook proficiency helps with daily logistics communication.

Responsibilities

  • Transport materials to production sites to maintain continuous flow.
  • Load/unload machines and handle raw and finished materials.
  • Move finished goods and pallets; manage HVSC containers and warehouse storage.
  • Perform label control ensuring correct lot numbers and quantities.
  • Requisition materials from warehouse using SAP workflows.
  • Maintain clean work area and follow safety and environmental procedures.

Job Description

The Material Handler will transport, organize, and supply material to production personnel such that continuous production is possible. Perform machine loading/unloading or raw materials and finished materials. Very minor repair to the all-fills. Keeping up with fast-paced process at times.

Essential Functions
  • Using forklift to Supply operators with necessary materials to maintain production as directed by Supervisor. Using FIFO and keeping up with fast paced production.
  • Moving Finished goods after operators have filled pallets with completed pads, Moving HVSC full of finished good stoppers to rubber warehouse.
  • Remove empty containers to recycling area. Empty trash into outside trash container. Maintain cleanliness of work area. Maintaining and keeping up with proper waste programs.
  • Requisition materials from warehouse/label room through the use of SAP.
  • Perform label control making sure correct lot numbers, quantities and labels are used.
  • Transport finished goods to assigned areas.
  • Observe all safety standards, environmental procedures and QSR’s.
  • Must be able to lift 20-40 pounds on a regular basis
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required by the Supervisor/Lead.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Training Requirements
On the Job training Period
  • Upon placement into position, associate can expect to receive up to 6 weeks of training provided by a qualified trainer.
  • After training period is complete, additional training will take place. Associate will be considered proficient in this position after 3 months.
