Job summary

Tenneco is hiring a Materials Lab Technician for the Rubber Lab. This role focuses on setting up, operating, maintaining and calibrating lab equipment per established procedures, and on providing technical support to ensure smooth workflow.

You’ll report results, contribute to process improvements, and help manage material handling to minimize motion and maximize efficiency while complying with quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with emphasis on Math and Science.
• Strong mechanical inclination with prior experience with equipment set-up/operation/maintenance/calibration.
• Proficient use of computers and spreadsheet programs.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment set-up and operation, maintenance and calibration per established procedures.
• Report data accurately and note any deviations from procedures.
• Support continuous improvements in lab methods and productivity.
• Pack parts and manage material flow to reduce handling and improve efficiency.
